A New Garden

~Olivia Fontes

Growing, growing, gone.

Where did you go?

Lost, under the roots.

Oh, how I miss you so.

You were once so pretty,

Blossoming outside my window.

Now it’s just a pity.

Oh, how I wish you’d go.

A new flower peaks through,

Daffodils & daisies & roses, oh my!

My garden has given me another seed.

Oh, how I laugh again, and look to the sky.

Clouds remind me of the new eyes I see,

Nights conjure happy memories.

Once more I am set free,

Oh, how I love this new flower.
